Creatives Against Covid 19
Role: Personal Project
The Brief.
Creatives Against Covid 19 was an initiative that invited the global creative community to design and donate inspiring posters to raise funds for vulnerable women and children during the Coronavirus crisis. All proceeds will be donated equally between ISPCC Childline and Women’s Aid. The brief asked artists to base their design on a positive iteration of the term ”Soon”.
The Idea.
My design is entitled “The Call of the Wild” and reflects my own personal recognition of the outdoors as a utopia - contrasting with the constraints of staying indoors for self isolation. In this case the swallow, a symbol of coming summer, acts as a beacon of the good times to come by carrying a lantern housing a picturesque sunrise.
The above design was one of many submitted by designers and artists from around the globe. The general public were invited to purchase their choice of these posters from the custom website with all funds going towards the aforementioned charities. In addition, the designs were put on display at the world famous Guinness Storehouse in Dublin through the “Soon Is Now” exhibition.
