IKEA Canada 40th Anniversary

The Brief.

IKEA wanted to celebrate their 40th anniversary in Canada with an event worthy of such an achievement.

The Idea.

Working directly with the Canadian brand team and experts from the iconic IKEA Museum in Sweden, we created a celebratory exhibition experience held at downtown Toronto’s renowned Design Exchange venue.

The IKEA Then & Now exhibit took visitors on an IKEA journey through the decades, visually demonstrating how the brand has helped shape life at home in Canada over the past 40 years as well as paying homage to its unique democratic design philosophy.

By replicating certain aspects of the IKEA Museum in Älmhult, Sweden, we showcased product range, a timeline of historic events, product development, and democratic design while providing visitors with the opportunity to jump into the iconic ball pit, star on the cover of IKEA’s 2017 Catalogue, and enter for the chance to win a trip to Sweden.
