Irish National Lottery
Internal Event Experience

Role: Creative Direction/Copywriting
This project was created with Lightscape and Nineyards

The Brief.

As part of a future-facing internal event, the client wanted to reinvigorate staff and stakeholders alike with a series of engaging activations that reflected the brand’s current - and intended future role - in Irish society.

The Idea.

“Scratch The Surface” was an interactive typographic wall projection, created with a system of infra-red cameras, that allowed guests to reveal content by their intuitive interaction.

The Lottery wanted to re-enforce the positive societal impact it has on the island, stepping away from purely financial and looking towards emotional and societal good.

Using a random assortment of kinetic typography as the backdrop, we invited guests to create their own positive change via their own interaction.

When an individual was standing within the experience space, the system would capture their silhouette and use it to turn ‘randomness’ into order – in this case indiscriminate numbers and letters into brand value statements. The more guests collaborated with others, the more of the hidden messages were revealed.
